On April 21st 2015, Dave Cox, a security guard employed to the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) lost his home in St. Catherine to a fire. Thankfully there were no injuries nor was there loss of life. However, everything in his home was completely destroyed.
Dave is the breadwinner for his family of ten. Married to Shelly-Ann, they are responsible for eight children: four boys aged 1, 8, 14 and 17 years old and four girls aged 1, 10, 14 and 19 years old.
The team at Fundaciones El Centro is facilitating a project initiated by one of its students, 5-year-old Elijah Cunningham. Elijah and his classmates will collect and sort toys, books, and clothes for the children in keeping with the theme of Kids Helping Kids.

As the Grandfather who Elijah discussed this idea with to initiate the effort, my heart is overfull with joy and pride and I do hope other children, parents and friends will make contributions to this worthy cause.
This is so cool! I'm really impressed with Elijah's sense of community, generosity and giving back at his tender age! Definitely worth of support!

This is absolutely wonderful! And at such a young age! A timely reminder of the goodness and empathy that still exist in our world today. Well done!

My wonderful children always make me take a step and back and think about they were made to have such compassion, love and of course humor. They have blessed our lives and I am sure Elijah will continue to do very great things in his lifetime.
Elijah, your Australian family is immensely proud of the initiative which you have taken. What a wonderful thing for you, and your classmates, to do. I am so very happy to see that you are carrying on the family tradition of giving help where help is needed! Well done little one!
