Collaborations with Mathstronauts

Mathstronauts is a wonderful, non-profit organization based in the city of Hamilton, Ontario. This educational enrichment platform promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) to children throughout Canada.

In July 2016, team members from Mathstronauts and Fundaciones, will deliver a special Camp Discovery in Montego Bay, Jamaica for the first time.

The two week camp targets students aged 9 – 13 years old. This is an exciting opportunity to explore STEM in creative and hands-on approaches. Students will learn and apply new concepts and develop a deeper understanding of STEM as they complete exciting projects.

These include:
– designing a home security system
– mouse dissections
– star gazing
– making a telescope

Together, Mathstronauts and Fundaciones hope to inspire a generation of scientists in Jamaica.
